University Admission Requirements
University of Zululand, UNIZULU Courses and Requirements
To secure admission at the UNIZULU prospective students must meet the University admission requirements for the specific academic year. The following are the admission requirements for admission at UNIZULU.
Diploma in Sport and Exercise technology 3 26 NSC pass with at least 26 points, a pass of at least 40% (level 3) in four recognised NCS 20-credit subjects, at least 40% (level 3) for English at first Additional Language or at least 50% (level 4) for English as Home Language.
The minimum admission requirement is a National Senior Certificate (NSC) with a minimum of level 2 (30% or higher) in the language of learning and teaching of the higher education institution and one home language as certified by the Council for General and Further Education and Training (Umalusi).

The University of Zululand (also known as UNIZULU) has been designated to serve as the only comprehensive tertiary educational institution north of the uThukela River in KwaZulu-Natal.Its new status is in accordance with South Africa’s National Plan for Higher Education aimed at eradicating inequity and costly duplication. As a result, UNIZULU offers career-focused programmes as well as a limited number of relevant university degree courses that have been structured with potential employees and employers in mind.UNIZULU has the following faculties available, some are based at the main campus at KwaDlangezwa while others are based at the Richards Bay Campus.

The UNIZULU student portal provides an engaging student experience with a single point of access to all applications, information, and content necessary for university studies.

How to Recover Your UNIZULU Student Portal Forgotten Password?
- To reset your password, submit your username or your email address. If you are found in the database, an email will be sent to your email address, with instructions on how to get access again.
University admission- Online application
To complete your UNIZULU online application please follow the following application procedures:
- Visit the UNIZULU website and click on the Admission > Apply for Admission
- Online Registration; Fill in your Information To register.
- Upload supporting documents; Everyone applying for a new qualification must submit the required documents (all first-time applicants and UNIZULU students starting a new qualification).
- UNIZULU Application fee payments (Note some universities do not charge application fees)
- Submit your completed application: To complete the application; the applicant is required to complete all steps related to the UNIZULU application process.
When to apply at UNIZULU – UNIZULU application dates
Applications open between May and close around August every year. Please try to submit your application as soon as possible. Because some Universities do not consider late applications.

When the UNIZULU updates your application, you will receive email communication. Please Keep on monitoring your email account closely for updates. You can also check your status online with the log-in credentials that were provided after your application. Keep in mind that some universities do not disclose your application status telephonically.
To check the progress of your application through the UNIZULU Online application portal follow these easy steps:
- Go to: http://www.cao.ac.za/myapplicationlogin.aspx
- Fill in the username and password then submit
- Upon successful login to the application portal, you will be able to see your application status (i.e. Pending Review, Requires Action, Complete, Undergraduate Admission Decisions, Pending, Admitted, Cleared Provisional, Admission, Ineligible, Quota Filled Not Selected or Cancelled).

After a successful application, you will receive an admission offer from the University of Zululand, to accept your UNIZULU offer of admission, log in to the UNIZULU Online application tool and select the “Confirm” tab. You must respond by the expiry date noted in your offer

Exam results are made available on the following platforms:
- E-mail: Register on myUnisa and indicate that you would like to receive your results via e-mail.
- Posted: Hard copies of examination results are mailed to each candidate after the official date of release/printing.
