To secure admission at the UFH prospective students must meet the University admission requirements for the specific academic year. The following are the admission requirements for admission at UFH.
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS FOR BACHELOR’S DEGREES
• Minimum of level 4 in English 1st Additional Language or
• Minimum of level 3 in English Home Language.
• Minimum of Level 4 or better in four 20-credit subjects from the designated list, excluding Life Orientation.
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS FOR MATURE AGE APPLICANTS
Mature age applicants (turning 23 years during year of registration), who have met the requirements in bullets 1 – 3 above, qualify for admission to mainstream programmes. They need to apply for conditional exemption from HESA.

- Open your internet browser e.g. Internet Explorer, Chrome, Firefox, etc.

- Then log in with your username and password
- Once logged in, you will be able to perform any of the academic activities.

To complete your UFH online application please follow the following application procedures:

- Online Registration; Fill in your Information To register.
- Upload supporting documents; Everyone applying for a new qualification must submit the required documents (all first-time applicants and UFH students starting a new qualification).

STEP 2
An SMS will be sent to you informing you of the status of your application thereafter a letter of confirmation.
STEP 3
Current matriculants who qualify based on their Grade 12 mid-term performance, are provisionally admitted pending the submission of their final matric results and subject to availability of space
STEP 4
Successful applicants will receive sms and an admission letter, together with a registration guide, which reflects the registration dates and orientation programme.

Applications open between May and close around August every year. Please try to submit your application as soon as possible. Because some Universities do not consider late applications.

You can also check your status online with the log-in credentials that were provided after your application. Keep in mind that some universities do not disclose your application status telephonically.

- Upon successful login to the application portal, you will be able to see your application status (i.e. Pending Review, Requires Action, Complete, Undergraduate Admission Decisions, Pending, Admitted, Cleared Provisional, Admission, Ineligible, Quota Filled Not Selected or Cancelled).

After a successful application, you will receive an admission offer from the University of Fort Hare, to accept your UFH offer of admission, log in to the UFH Online application tool and select the “Confirm” tab. You must respond by the expiry date noted in your offer
