Understanding Your Online Matric Results
Whether you have online matric results or find them in the newspaper, you will need to know what they mean.
Here is all the information you need when it comes to understanding your matric results.
Your Pass Level
When you pass matric, there are a few pass levels you can achieve that will determine how you passed your year. These include:
- Bachelor Degree Pass
- Diploma Pass
- Higher Certificate Pass
- NCS Pass
Bachelor Degree Pass
To meet a BD pass, you need:
- An APS score of 4 in at least 4 high credit subjects
- An APS score of 3 in your home language
- An APS score of 2 in any 2 other subjects
- A total APS score of 23
Diploma Pass
To meet a diploma pass you need:
- An APS score of at least 3 in your home language
- An APS score of at least 3 in 4 high credit subjects
- An APS score of 2 in any other 2 subjects
- A total APS score of 19
Higher Certificate Pass
To meet an HC pass, you need:
- An APS score of at least 3 in your home language
- An APS score of at least 3 in 2 other subjects
- An APS score of 2 in 3 other subjects
- A total APS score of 15
NSC Pass
To get an NSC pass, you need:
- An APS score of at least 3 in your home language
- An APS score of at least 3 in 2 other subjects
- An APS score of 2 in 4 other subjects
- A total APS score of 14
